Key to Success
Take responsibility for your learning!
1) Do your homework regularly.
Homework allows you to review material covered in class, and allows you to identify areas that you may be having difficulty with. Upon completion of homework, make note of any concepts or questions that caused problems. When you return to class ask for clarification on these concepts or questions.
2) Seek help quickly when you feel you are falling behind.
It is easier to get clarification on small units of material, allowing you to keep up, rather than waiting until you feel lost in the course. Twenty minutes of one-on-one help can often make all the difference in understanding key concepts in the course.
3) Hand in all lab reports and assignments.
Failing to hand in these labs/assignments is foolishly throwing marks away. If, for some reason, you cannot hand something in on its due date, handing it in late is better than not handing it in at all.
4) Make sure you make-up missed tests/quizzes.
Be responsible, you know you missed it, you should be ready to make it up within the first few days of your return. Set a date with your teacher to write the missed test/quiz. Don't wait until it is marked and handed back to the class, by then it is too late!
